Cacao Ceremony

The following event we teamed up with Luna who processes her own cacao and Kate a recent rematriator who has been on a long journey with this medicine both spiritually and physically. 

We harvested the cacao together along the river of Kate’s residence and processed it and fermented the cacao with a combination of what Luna harvested in the south of Puerto Rico. When we held the event on our farm, we held the intention and discussion of what was the unspoken tensions between Boricuas born in the states and Boricuas from the island. 

Cacao is traditionally used as a heart opener and allowed us to hold space for a tense discussion with love.
